the Final Cut {invitations}

With three weeks to go Wedding planning is coming to a near end. Cannot believe how time flies when planning a wedding, with less than a year the process has been somewhat smooth. The key is to use your time efficiently and thankfully with my work schedule it all worked out. Here is the final cut of the wedding invitations, overall I'm very happy with the way they came out. I would've tweaked a few things like ink and paper colour for the inside of the pocket folder but in the end your guests wouldn't know this (maybe now when reading the blog). And keep that in mind, don't freak out about little details your guests don't know your vision so overall presentation will {hopefully} look beautiful!

Invitations by The Invitation Place

With today's social networking I realize that a few couples are going the evite route but I love the look and feel of getting invitations in the mail. What are your thoughts; paper or electronic invitations? 

bridal shower invites are in the mail!

The bridal shower invites are in the mail! However, by now most guests have received them {I hope}. With the Canada Post on strike back in June the invites went out a bit late. Better late than never! And I'm really happy how they came out. Rachel from Apple Blossom Print customized her invite silhouette to conform with my bridal shower colour theme. 

The theme, 1950's housewife, combined perfectly with Rachel's idea. The invites and envelopes were printed and purchased at Staples, the blank address labels and recipe cards purchased from Michael's Crafts (what a perfect colour match).

invites, done! {sneakpeak}

Invites ordered! Choosing the invitation vendor, The Invitation Place was easy. Although I had liked a few other vendors, Alison from The Invitation Place, just had a spark I liked. She left the corporate world to embark on creating her own business, her drive and enthusiasm is what attracted me to her products. She's passionate about what she does and is easy to talk to. The last point is extremely important when deciding on which vendor to choose, why? Because in the wedding industry your vision of your wedding is essential in trying to achieve the finished product, in all aspects of wedding planning. The key is communication, isn't that always the key!
Basically my colour theme is a dusty purple, pewter, and cream. So from there I was able to choose the style of invites I wanted. The above image is the sample of paper and ink chosen, the final product will still take a few weeks and sorry but the final product won't be shown until my guests receive them in the mail. Can't share everything with you...my guests won't have any surprises!

Also, I loved the motif of the pocket envelope because it reminded me of embroidery from Portugal (specifically from the Viana do Castelo area of which my parents are from). Yes, I'm a sucker for attention to detail.

the Total Wedding Show {recap}

This past January 21st I attended the Total Wedding Show here in Toronto. Over 350 Wedding vendors from the Southern Ontario area were in attendance, which means comfortable shoes and plan of action. Prior to attending I had a list of vendors I wanted to check out. First, I looked up vendors that were in attendance and visited those vendors first, lastly write down notes on their business cards...i.e certain aspects of their booth you liked so you can remember for later. Saves you time! Also, another good reason to attend the shows is that vendors offer exclusive discounts for attendees. Saves you money!
